After a week of rain outs and then Spring Break, it was back for another good ol’ windy game day…
By now, you could almost say we’re used to it…
Our first game was little rocky, but what do you expect after two weeks off?
However, we still pulled out the W after a crucial 3 run bomb by our senior first baseman and a solo home run by our sophomore center fielder in the top of the 7th inning to put us ahead 8-5 after we were down 5-4.
One girl hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th, but we held them 8-6 for the final.
I was 0-3 batting as DP with a ground out, fielder’s choice, and pop up to the first baseman.
Coach didn’t play me the second game until the bottom of the 6th inning when I went out to right field for the rest of the game.
The wind blew so hard, I was actually playing right center, but I was on deck when we got our last out on offense for the day, so I didn’t bat again.
We won that game 3-1.
These games marked our first two conference games (and wins) of the season.
They also put us at 12-13 in our last 13 games. (Not too shabby.)
We play again in two days at home against the #2 in our conference.
(If we hit like we’re capable, we just might surprise some people come Thursday.)
On to the next ones!
